ISRPhotosWalk & Creve Coeur Camera To Team Up For July Cosplay Meet-up
No plans this Sunday? Don't miss one of my favorite local photography meet-ups, the ISRPhotos Walk for their July event themed around photographing Cosplay. Completely free to attend, it's held every month in a central Saint Louis location--previous locations include Soulard Farmer's Market, Maplewood, The Loop, and more. This month the group will meet this Sunday, July 30th in Tower Grove Park near the Flag Staff at 12pm.
Saint Louis area photographers and models of all ages and skill-levels are invited to network and practice their skills together this Sunday for an afternoon spent celebrating art and photography in Tower Grove Park. Don't miss your opportunity to catch cosplay models in action!
PRO-TIP: Confused about what exactly Cosplay is? You're not alone! Cosplay (or costume-play) is a performance art in which participants wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a fictional character. The term "cosplay" was coined in Japan in 1984. It was inspired by and grew out of the practice then-known as fan costuming.
And as a bonus this month, Midwest camera chain, Creve Coeur Camera will be offering a free class at 10:30am at their Crestwood location (9560 Watson Road, Unit H, Crestwood, MO) to help you get prepped for the photowalk. The experts at CCC will discuss basic posing and lighting tips for the shoot using both natural lighting with reflectors and artificial lighting. Bring your camera and external flash if you've got one!
The class will last approximately 60 minutes, and is limited to 15 attendees so reserve your spot soon if you'd like to attend. Click here to register!
Early sign-up is not required for the photowalk portion of the event; everyone is welcome! Worried about having enough time to photograph the models? The photowalk will offer a variety of stations with each model to provide ample opportunity to photograph each one!
PRO-TIP: If you're a regular ISRPhotowalk attendee, you'll notice some new faces on Sunday! With Creve Coeur Camera sponsoring and the event growing each month, you won't want to be caught without your business cards. Don't forget to pack some in your bag!
One of the largest meet-ups in the area, The ISR PhotosWalk usually draws over 30 photographers in addition to the several models that drop by to pose for the camera. I would absolutely recommend this event for anybody interested in networking with photographers and models in the Saint Louis area!
